Elaine Roy says, "As I reflect on this incredible evening, I know I am blessed beyond words. So many people really touched my heart tonight with their kind words. Forgot to thank so many people but everyone who has helped us on this journey from our parents, family, friends, band members, radio DJs, fans, label, managers, publicist, festivals, promoters, ICM, our peers, I am sure I left a million people out, thank you for always inspiring me to do my best. And to God be the glory."

In the fall of every year, The Inspirational Country Music Awards celebrate the year-long accomplishments of the industries brightest new talent, biggest stars and living legends. The Awards also serve as a yearly testament to the accumulative work and effort of The Inspirational Country Music Association.

After years of hard work, siblings Lee and Elaine Roy have firmly established themselves as one of the pre-eminent acts in Bluegrass today. As The Roys they bring immaculate harmonies, impeccable musicianship and strong songwriting to their music, combining a traditional vocal styling with a progressive instrumental attitude to enchant fans around the world. Proud to continue the “family harmony” sound started by such groups as Hall of Fame inductees The Carter Family, The Louvin Brothers and The Osborne Brothers, The Roys revel in exploring new facets of the genre while remaining true to their roots.

Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and raised across the border in Coal Branch, New Brunswick, Canada, The Roys’ early childhood days were filled with music. “Our Grandma LeBlanc played Acadian tunes on her fiddle while my aunts and uncles joined in,” Elaine recalls. “It was truly ‘Roots’ music. We fell in love with that ‘honest’ sound, and our harmonies seemed to fit that style of music,” adds Lee. Growing up in a family where guitar pulls were a normal occurrence, Lee became adept on drums, bass and mandolin and joined his first Bluegrass band at the age of nine. Elaine learned guitar and began singing at age five, making her first on-stage appearance at the tender age of 10.

The popular Bluegrass duo was previously honored with the following ICM Awards: 2014, 2013, 2012 & 2011 Bluegrass Artist of the Year; 2012 #1 Inspirational Country Single ("I Wonder What God's Thinking"), and the 2010 & 2009 Duo of the Year. This year, Lee and Elaine take home their fifth consecutive Inspirational Country Music Bluegrass Artist of the Year Award.

Inspirational Country Music enjoys one of the most loyal fan-bases in the music industry. That quality makes it extremely accepting and welcoming to new artists. While not as large an industry as Mainstream Country, the unique Inspirational Country fan loyalty allows artists the opportunity to grow careers as well as ministries.
