The Rock by Terry BaucomTerry Baucom feels his single and video, "The Rock" is very fitting for Mother's Day week especially because of the message. The video that was put together for it pictures him, his Mom (who has always been My Rock!) Terry just released this track for Mother's Day. "The Rock" written by Thom Case and performed by Terry Baucom with Joey Lemons, Shawn Lane, Caleb Smith and Steve Bryant from the forthcoming release by Terry Baucom on the John Boy & Billy label.

A career in music that started in 1970 with Charlie Moore and continued over the years as a founder of ground breaking bands like Boone Creek (with Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas), Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out and more. Winner of the 2013 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year for "What'll I Do", Baucom currently tours with his own band, "Terry Baucom's Dukes of Drive".

Terry Baucom is affectionately known as the "Duke of Drive" by bluegrass music fan. An accomplished banjo artist, he has performed with legendary acts including Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out, Baucom, Bibey, Graham & Hale, Boon Creek which he helped form. (Boon Creek was Ricky Skaggs, Wes Golding, and Jerry Douglas and Terry Baucom.) Baucom has also been a performing artist on many other albums.

On the banjo, speed isn't everything. The beat and being slightly before the beat is very important -- that's part of the drive. Baucom adds yet another dimension to his performing as he is also a muolti-instrumentalist and can perform in numerous styles other than bluegrass music. He could easily play all the instruments on a single recording by layering them down one track at a time.

Baucom's latest project, Never Thought of Looking Back" features Terry Baucom on banjo, Sam Bush on mandolin, Jerry Douglas handles dobro, Wyatt Rice plays guitar, Steve Bryant on bass and Aubrey Haynie playing fiddle. The 12 cuts bring in a variety of stellar guest vocalists with Baucom on the John Boy & Billy label.
