Dr. Banjo Says Picking Season is Coming. Want to jam?

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Pete Wernick Bluegrass CampRight about this time of year, many pickers start thinking "This summer I'm going to show my stuff as a musician." If you're starting to get those thoughts, I'd like you to know of a way to help that to actually happen.

No, it's not a new music book or DVD (though we do offer those) ... it's an opportunity to come together with others like yourself, in your area -- people with the same goals -- and start making music together.

Folks who play stringed instruments know that bluegrass and string band music is a team effort, best done in groups of about 4-7. But few have access to a group like that where the skill and speed levels fit their own. They might attend a jam with 20 or more people, or hover on the outskirts of jams that are out of their league. What they would like best and would help them the most would be... A Wernick Method Jam Class or Camp!

It so happens that there's one soon to start in your area: Joe Quesenberry's Wernick Method Bluegrass Jam Class at the Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival in Palisade CO, June 12-14.

The Wernick Method, now in its 5th year, has brought over 3500 students to the joy of jamming. We're in 40 states and soon to be 12 countries, and our students have given us some powerful positive feedback. These are actual complete statistics based on anonymous online surveys!

Joe Quesenberry is a certified Wernick Method teacher trained in the principles that provide the shortest and easiest path to playing bluegrass music with other people. With just four chords (G, C, D, A), even going at very gentle speeds, almost anyone can play bluegrass and have a great time. Our students have ranged from under 10 to over 80. We know how to make it work even with a wide range of skills in a class. Everyone is challenged, everyone can have fun doing what they're capable of. The results speak for themselves. We change wannabes into real bluegrass jammers!

Joe's class will be held at the Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival in Palisade CO Friday-Sunday June 12-14. Session times are Friday 4-6pm, Saturday & Sunday 9-11am Tuition is $59.50 in advance, $70 on site, and $30 for a single session. More info at bgJAM.com.

In a matter of weeks, this class will be happening, and not long after that, summer will be upon us, with -- I hope - lots of music opportunities for you. Why not find out now about what the Wernick Method has to offer?
