Working On LoveNiall Toner formed his Acoustic String Band in 2001, and since that time they have released four all-original Albums, and toured all over the World. Last October, Niall returned from Nashville, Tennessee, where he recorded album number five, titled Working on Love, another all-original project. This latest project is comprised of many love songs and tunes inspired by life in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains of County Carlow. Appropriately released on St.Valentine's Day, 2015.

Regarding the title song, "Working On Love" Niall says, "I wrote this up-tempo love song with Keith Sewell in Nashville, and we were lucky enough to have it recorded by the great Albert Lee on on his Sugar Hill Album. Albert gave it the full Country-Rock treatment, but I had always wanted to sing it in a more Acoustic Bluegrass style, and it also made an obvious title track for this Album of mostly love songs. Justin Weaver (Wynonna Judd Band) provided the groove on his Mandolin, and Keith played Guitar, with Scott Vestal (Sam Bush Band) on 5-String Banjo, and Samson Grisman (The Deadly Gentlemen/Dave Grisman Band) on Bass."

One of the features of the Niall Toner Band over the past few years has been the introduction of many fine Musicians to the line-up, and 2014/15 sees that philosophy continue with the addition of the multi-talented Johnny Gleeson, a Carlow native, on Dobro Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals. Another major addition is that of Mandolin Virtuoso, Richie Foley, who hails from Youghal, in County Cork. Richie has toured extensively with Niall, and earlier this year appeared as part of Niall's Band at the World Famous MerleFest in North Carolina. Dick Gladney, andother Carlow native, still holds down his position as Bass Man Supreme.

Niall notes, "Over the years, I have played with, and learned from so many fine musicians in so many combinations, it's hard to decipher where the learning/teaching process begins or leaves off. One result is that I am humbled and honoured to be the recipient of so many accolades. It's the kind of thing that simply sneaks up on you and I'm very appreciative of the support you have shown me for sticking to my [ Musical ] guns. It's certainly not the fastest way to get rich and famous, but it is a musical life that I find to be both fascinating, interesting and satisfying."
