WoodSongs Front Porch Association GatheringThe WoodSongs Front Porch Association (WFPA) Gathering is set for Sept 25 & 26 at the historic Museum of Appalachia, located on I-75 at the Kentucky/Tennessee line, just 8 miles from the famous Rocky Top. The Gathering will be held on eleven beautiful acres at the cabin village of over 40 log structures and porches. Showcases, workshops, lectures, films, children's stages, great food and a lot of music are planned.

The WoodSongs Front Porch Association is a collective of artists, dreamers, musicians, songwriters, music business folks, presenters, poets, authors, song farmers, fans and families. The mission of the WFPA is to introduce the world of roots/folk/bluegrass music into schools (with lesson plans) nationwide. For this reason the WFPA places special emphasis on young people and family music. Members of the WFPA support our effort to restore the simple love of rural music back into hometowns, schools and on front porches around the world.

Folk and Bluegrass DJs might take special interest in attending. As the WFPA sponsored classroom project launches students in your listening areas will be looking to your hometown radio shows for samples of the music and artists they are learning about from the WFPA Classroom project. Part of the educational effort is to help students organize in-school "music coffeehouses."

Admission to the 2-day Gathering is FREE to the first 1,000 members of the WoodSongs Front Porch Association. You might want to sign up early as we have just launched the project and the membership is already swelling. NOTE: All member artists who want to will get an official showcase slot. Gorilla performing encouraged so if you have an instrument, bring it.
