Emerging Artist of the Year 2014Nashville, TN -- Flatt Lonesome has been named the 2014 Emerging Artist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). The announcement was made last Thursday, October 2 at the 25th Annual IBMA Awards Show. The awards show was held in Raleigh, NC at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and was hosted by Lee Ann Womack and Jerry Douglas.

"We are so excited that we just can’t put it in to words," says the band's Kelsi Robertson Harrigill. "It was a huge surprise for us and it is such an honor to receive this award! Being on that stage and looking out into the audience filled with our heroes - the people that inspire us - was incredible!" Kelsi continues, “we love bluegrass music and we do not take this Emerging Artist title lightly. We are going to continue to work hard for all of the wonderful folks that support us and it’s our desire to represent our genre of music well.”

Siblings, Kelsi Robertson Harrigill (mandolin), Buddy Robertson (guitar), and Charli Robertson (fiddle) founded Flatt Lonesome in 2011 along with neighbor, Dominic Illingworth (bass) and longtime friend, Michael Stockton (dobro). Paul Harrigill (banjo) joined in early 2012. The band is known for their soaring sibling vocals and top-notch musicianship along with a heaping dose of youthful spirit.

Too, Flatt Lonesome's sophomore release (Mountain Home Records), debuted at #5 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart; two of the album's songs, "So Far" and "Dangerous Dan" have reached the Top 5 on Bluegrass Today’s single’s chart; and the first single “So Far” is rapidly climbing Bluegrass Unlimited’s National Bluegrass Survey.
