Doyle Lawson to Perform Benefit Concert TODAY

Doyle Lawson & QuicksilverColumbus, KS -- Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver will perform a concert benefitting the First Christian Church African Scholarship Fund on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 7:00 pm CT. The concert will be held at Columbus High School Auditorium at 124 South High School Avenue in Columbus. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each and available locally at the Country Gardens Florist, or at the door the night of the show. Tickets and info are also available by calling either (620)762-0922 or (620)429-2779.

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are currently reigning Diamond Awards Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year (2013). The band is also currently nominated for 2014 Diamond Awards Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year, as well as just receiving a prestigious Vocal Group of the Year nomination in the upcoming 25th Annual IBMA Awards.

The band is also in the Top 10 Nominees for Inspirational Country Music Association (ICM) Vocal Group of the Year and Inspirational Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year.

DLQ have a brand new gospel album which released in July, "Open Carefully: Message Inside," which debuted at #10 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart. Bluegrass Legend Doyle Lawson also has a new collaboration album called "Standing Tall and Tough" which just released on the Mountain Home label with his dear friends and fellow Hall of Fame members, J.D. Crowe and Paul Williams.

With nearly 40 albums to their credit, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver have multiple Grammy, Dove, IBMA, SPBGMA and ICM Award nominations, and are 7-time IBMA Vocal Group of the Year. DLQ were named ICM Vocal Group of the Year in 2012, on the heels of Doyle Lawson being inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in September 2012 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
