The RigneysDalton, GA -- The WoodSongs Coffeehouse Dalton Chapter announces the return of their annual winter concert series to benefit Providence Ministries. The Dalton WoodSongs Coffee House Concert will kick off the 2014 series on January 25 with the Rigneys a family bluegrass band and Lon Eldridge. An award-winning band, the Rigneys play their own blend of originals and traditional arrangements with tight family harmonies and innovative instrumentation.

Fronted by flatpicking champ Andy Rigney and his brother Grant, a champion fiddler and member of the 2013 IBMA Youth All Star band, the group has performed at numerous venues throughout the United States, France, and Spain. The Rigneys signed with Nashville record label Dark Shadow Recording in the spring of 2013. Their latest project, Double or Nothing, was released by Dark Shadow Recording on September 10, 2013. It was produced by Stephen Mougin, label-owner and guitarist for the Sam Bush Band."The adjectives used to describe The Rigneys include 'phenomenal' and 'blown away.' They're all true! This family gets it done." Terri Holloway, Prescription Bluegrass Blog.

Opening for the Rigneys will be Chattanoogan Lon Eldridge. His warm and infectious musicality is sure keep you tuned in throughout his performance, coupling intricate fingerstyle guitar work with clever and thought-provoking lyrics. Lon has toured the USA and Europe, taking his unique blend of traditional blues, ragtime, and jazz to whole new audiences. He will be joined by Ed Huey playing harmonica. Ed Huey's blues roots reach back to hearing workers sing in the cotton fields across the road from his grandmother's house in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ed has performed at festivals and clubs from Quannah, TX to Elkins, WVA. Lon and Ed also collaborated to produce the well received bluesy CD entitled Play Dat Thang.

This regionally acclaimed concert series features emerging and established performers and will be held in the intimate and eclectic setting of the historic Dalton Freight Depot located at 305 S. Depot Street in down town Dalton Georgia. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Downtown Dalton Development Authority and the Dalton Convention and Visitors Bureau.
