Terry is a native of New Brunswick, Canada and is the son of very well-known Canadian fiddle player, Eddy Poirier. Terry has spent the last 5 years as bass player for the contemporary bluegrass group, Newtown and is also a DJ, Webmaster and Music Librarian for World Wide Bluegrass.

"We are thrilled to have Terry Poirier join the Spinney Brothers band," states Rick Spinney. "We have known Terry for many years and respect his level of musicianship and dedication to Bluegrass music." Terry is equally excited about joining a band of fellow Canadians stating, "I fully expect my new venture with the Spinney Brothers to be great and I'm looking forward to many shows and miles traveled with them."

Rick also noted, "I personally want to ask that you all welcome Terry Poirier to the Spinney Brothers band as we move forward in 2014. Ter111+s. Welcome aboard Terry...were gonna have some good times on the road."

NewTown commented saying, "The winds of change are ever blowing in the bluegrass community, and with the new year, even more change. Terry Poirier, long time bass man with the band Newtown has decided to leave the band for another venture... We wish Terry and Holly the best of luck in the future."

"Terry, a great friend and one of the finest bass players in Bluegrass or any genre of music, has been an inter cal part of Newtown's sound since late 2008. It's with sadness that we receive the news that he will be departing us, but we wish him well in his leaving and our best for him in the future."
