Newton & Thomas Lend Support to CJs Thumbs Up Foundation

Mark Newton and Steve ThomasRichmond, VA (July 15, 2013) – Mark Newton & Steve Thomas will appear on Richmond, Virginia’s WTVR CBS Channel 6 “Virginia This Morning” TV show on Friday, July 19 at 9:00 am and Ashland Coffee and Tea in Ashland on Saturday, July 20 at 8:00 pm in support of the CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation. The organization provides financial assistance to families of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and was founded in honor of Charlotte Jennie Reynolds (July 9, 2005 - Jan. 7, 2010).

Newton & Thomas are also set for an up close and personal performance Friday evening at the Colonial Tavern in Fredericksburg, VA at 8:00 pm with a $5 cover charge. This is a coming home concert of sorts for Newton who is originally from Fredericksburg. Newton & Thomas have certainly emerged as one of the most talked about new acts entertaining audiences with their unique blend of music with both Mark and Steve providing lead and harmony vocals.

CJ's Thumbs Up FoundationThe group’s new Pinecastle Records’ album, Reborn includes a new single and video release of “Old McDonald Sold The Farm.” The single has hit the coveted #1 spot on Bluegrass Today’s Top 20 radio chart three times along with numerous other tracks, “The Key,” “Nobody’s Business,” “Painted Lady,” and “Far Far Cry” making their chart debut as well.

Newton & Thomas continue entertaining audiences with their energetic live shows performing their unique blend of music with a variety of musical instruments and both taking turns on lead vocals. Their combined musical experience has garnered a Grammy nomination, a CMA nomination and multiple IBMA awards throughout their impressive careers.
