Balsam RangeArden, N.C. -- Monday, July 15th marks the exclusive video premiere of "Papertown" from the five outstanding artists who comprise the award-winning band Balsam Range. The video was produced and directed by Kim White of ViewFinders, Inc. and includes a spectacular array of historic images along with performance footage. The resulting video is as captivating as the song that inspired it, one that tells the story of Canton, NC, honors the 100 year history of the paper mill, and features the amazing talent of North Carolina’s own Balsam Range. Catch the video Monday on CMT Edge.

"We had an incredible palette for the video," White says. "With a hundred-year-old story in song, a beautiful mountain town, train tracks, southern charm, Bluegrass instruments and a wildly talented band, it was everything a producer could hope for!"

"Papertown" is the title cut from Balsam Range’s fourth album. Papertown spent an impressive five consecutive months as the #1 album on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey. Additionally, Papertown (Mountain Home Music) has produced four #1 singles: "Any Old Road" (Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey), "I Could Do You Some Good" (Bluegrass Today), "Born Ramblin’ Man" (Bluegrass Today), and "Row By Row" (Singing News).

Founded in 2007, Balsam Range consists of five friends who’ve blended their unique individual experiences and backgrounds to form a distinctive sound. Since bursting onto the scene, Balsam Range has made a lasting mark in the world of Bluegrass and Acoustic music. Together, Tim Surrett, Buddy Melton, Darren Nicholson, Marc Pruett and Caleb Smith creatively blend Bluegrass, Folk, Gospel and Jazz into a compelling new acoustic music experience. The band was honored with the 2011 IBMA Song of the Year Award for “Trains I Missed.”

Country Music Television launched CMT Edge in the summer of 2012. It serves as an online source for music discovery focused on Americana/Roots, Bluegrass and Country acts. Curator for the site is writer-producer Craig Shelburne. Fans may enjoy the "Papertown" video on on July 15th and through other outlets after the daylong CMT Edge exclusive premiere.
