TheLife We LiveRural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the upcoming July 26, 2011 album release The Life We Live by Cumberland River. The album contains all original music by this hot young new band so we hope you enjoy! All five band members contributed to this impressive first national release produced by Steve Gulley. The band includes the talents of: James Dean (banjo, lead & harmony vocals); Dustin Middleton (mandolin, lead & harmony vocals); Joey Jones (bass); Jamie Stewart (Dobro); Andy Buckner (guitar, harmony vocals).

You will notice the incredible harmony vocals by Dale Ann Bradley, the reigning IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year on standout tracks like "This Life I Live" and more. Also joining the band is special guest Justin Moses (Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder) on Dobro and fiddle and Steve Gulley.

The band hit the national spotlight earlier this year when their original songs were featured on two episodes of the FX Network’s critically acclaimed hit drama, JUSTIFIED starring Timothy Olyphant. In July 29, 2010, Cumberland River Band was invited to perform for the writers and producers of the FX Network’s TV show, JUSTIFIED while they were in Harlan gathering information for their upcoming season. With only 24 hours notice, the band got together and wrote a song, “Justified” as a gift to the show. They received a standing ovation from the writers and producers, including Graham Yost a multi award winning writer and producer. The band added the song to their debut album, Rock Island Express released September 3, 2010

The band actually began with a promise and hand shake between two friends while driving to a Saturday night jam session in 2009. Jamie Dean and Joey Jones made a deal with each other - Joey promised he would buy an upright bass if Jamie would agree to stick with it and put together a band. Early on, they decided they would have to write their own material to ensure their music would appeal to both the younger generation as well as the older, more traditional, bluegrass fans. Fans certainly agree they have achieved their goal.

Cumberland River just finished their new album The Life We Live that will be released by Rural Rhythm Records on July 26, 2011. This highly anticipated new album was produced by acclaimed singer, songwriter and Grasstowne band member, Steve Gulley. The album is a collection of heart felt songs and haunting ballads written by the band and family members, taken from their life experiences and campfire stories from Harlan County, Kentucky.
