Carrie Hassler for Woodsongs Coffeehouse Concert to Benefit Shelter

An Evening with Carrie HasslerDalton, GA -- The Woodsongs Coffeehouse Dalton Chapter announces the return of their annual winter concert series to raise awareness and proceeds to complete construction of a new shelter by Providence Ministries. The facility at 613 Oxford Street in Dalton, Georgia will provide shelter for 60 men when construction is completed . An estimated $75,000 to $100,000 is needed to complete construction of the shelter. The highly acclaimed concert series features emerging and established performers of Americana, Country, and Bluegrass music. The concerts will be held in the intimate and eclectic setting of the historic Dalton Freight Depot located at 305 S. Depot Street in downtown Woodsongs Dalton Chapter Dalton Georgia. Seating is limited and performances typically sellout.

On Saturday January 26th, Carrie Hassler will be the featured performer with Earl Brackin in the singer/songwriter spotlight. Carrie Hassler's amazing voice, highly entertaining performances, and numerous #1 albums and #1 singles have garnered great attention and helped her to cross many genres of music over the last several years.

Kenny and Amanda SmithThe series will feature the Kenny and Amanda Smith Band on Saturday February 23rd.. Winners of the International Bluegrass Music Association's prestigious Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2003, the Kenny and Amanda Smith Band combines gutsy, heartfelt vocals, brilliant instrumental talents and a powerful, contemporary sense of song choice and arrangement into one of the most compelling new sounds in bluegrass today. The singer/songwriter spotlight will showcase Kathy Reed from Atlanta.

Nu-BluOn Saturday March 30th, Nu-Blu will make their debut appearance at the Dalton Freight Depot. The band is based in Siler City, North Carolina and in 2011 was nominated by the Carolina Music Awards for Bluegrass/American/Country Band of the Year. The Snopes Brothers from Globbler Knob return to the depot in the singer/songwriter spotlight.

The concert series is sponsored in part by the Dalton Downtown Development Authority (DDDA), Masingill Clean Air, and the Dalton Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Performances will begin at 7:00 PM with doors opening at 6:00PM. General admission tickets are $15.00 in advance and $17.00 at the door. Reserved table seating may be purchased in advance at $20 per person. The chapter also offers season tickets which include reserve seating and a logo coffee mug with unlimited hot beverage refills during each show. Please visit for tickets or more information.
