Mama TriedOn Saturday, February 2, 2013 Twelve Moons Coffee House at St. John's Church on Main Street, Salisbury, CT will feature Mama Tried, a progressive bluegrass band performing a variety of bluegrass standards, new wave bluegrass and original tunes. Known for their jaw-dropping instrumental abilities and tight vocal harmonies these professional players represent the cream of the crop of Hudson Valley Bluegrass music.

Featuring Mel Paskell on guitar and vocals, Gary DiGiovanni on banjo, harmonica & vocals, Frank Kara on mandolin & vocals, Nina Dryer on fiddle & vocals, and Dave Mallison on bass guitar, Mama Tried backed up Bette Midler in NYC last summer.

Twelve Moons Coffee House is held on the first Saturday of each month, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at St. John's church (back door entrance) 12 Main St., Salisbury. A free-will donation is requested to help cover expenses. The evening features live music, poetry readings, coffee, tea, snacks, social time with friends & more!

The format for the evening is to offer a featured performer for a 60 - 75 minute set, with the remaining time as ‘open mic’ and ‘song swap’. Others interested in playing music or reading poems, are welcome to sign up that night. Those interested in becoming a featured performer please contact:

Proceeds from ‘Equal Exchange’ products and ‘Ten Thousand Villages’ items sold during the coffee house will benefit a local charity.
