The Pickin' Porch ShowBristol, TN/VA -- The Appalachian Cultural Music Association’s Pickin’ Porch will re-open on a new night and at a new location starting this coming Monday evening January 14th at 7:00 pm. The ACMA Pickin’ Porch will present free concerts to the public at 620 State Street in downtown Bristol every Monday evening in the future as well.

The new Pickin’ Porch will be located at the Foundation Event Facility which is located on the second floor of 620 State Street. There is plenty of parking located on State Street and at the rear entrance off of Shelby Street in Bristol. The building is handicapped accessible and has elevator transportation to the second floor.

The Pickin’ Porch ran for over 15 years at the Bristol Mall but the ACMA announced late in 2012 that the non-profit organization would re-locate to downtown Bristol, TN in early 2013. The ACMA is also working to re-locate their Mountain Music Museum which will re-open by spring 2013 next door to the Foundation Event Facility at 626 State Street. The new Pickin’ Porch will start this Monday and plans are being made to have an “official” grand opening for the Mountain Music Museum and the Pickin Porch in the spring of 2013.

The public is invited to the “soft opening” of the new Pickin Porch this Monday to see the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Band, the VW Boys, Tommy Rose, Jim Gates Vinny Ringrose and PB15.

The ACMA is a non-profit 501c3 organization. For information on the ACMA and how to support their work in the Birthplace of Country Music please visit or
