Michael Cleveland and FlamekeeperThe lineup for the 2013 Mid-Winter Bluegrass Festival features 17 outstanding groups, many of them winners or nominees at the recent 2012 IBMA Convention, some of whom will be making their first appearance at Mid-Winter! As usual the Northglenn Ramada Plaza will host the festival featuring easy 1-25 access, ample parking, Grand Ballroom, indoor pool, jam rooms, good food, spacious atrium and other amenities too numerous to mention. Bring along your instruments and join in on the non-stop, wall-to-wall jamming that lasts throughout the weekend! Call early to assure. your reservation at the Northglenn Ramada Plaza or the nearby Super 8 just across 1-25.

An all-star lineup is scheduled to appear including:
Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper have become one of the most sought-after bands on the bluegrass festival circuit! Michael is considered the premier bluegrass fiddle player of his generation. He is a multiple winner of the IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year and his band has been named IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year several times. Expect high energy traditional bluegrass with soulful vocals and blistering instrumentals from this awesome, award winning band!

The Gibson Brothers were recently named the 2012 IBMA Entertainers Of The Year!
Their "Singing as We Rise" CD won the "Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year" award! In 2011 they were the IBMA Vocal Group of the Year and their CD "Help My Brother" was "Album of the Year!" They are considered the premier brother act in bluegrass music today and their soaring vocal duets are without equal. No group has had more "Top 30" hits during the past decade!

Greg Cahill And Special Consensus are the reason people love bluegrass! Performing for well over three decades, their vocals are spotless, their playing as shiny as a newly minted coin and their stage show has boundless energy! They currently have three songs on the BU "Top 30" and their tune "Monroe's Doctrine" was nominated for IBMA's Song of the Year! 0 Brother, that's good bluegrass!

The Hillbenders are one of the hottest young bands on the acoustic scene! Their aggressive combination of contemporary influence and traditional inspiration makes for an infectiously energetic stage performance! They're the 2009 Telluride Band Champions and in 2010 they won National Single Microphone Championship in Branson, MO!

Bryan Bowers is a celebrated singer, storyteller and is widely regarded as the world's leading virtuoso on the autoharp! His stage persona and charisma have earned him accolades around the world and we're excited he'll be making his first appearance here since 2002. He will also present an autoharp workshop on Saturday!

Finnders & Youngberg proudly swim in the deep currents of American music - classic bluegrass, true honky tonk, country swing and skillfully spun folk songs! They will appear all three days!

Jeff Scroggins & Colorado combine world class instrumentation, outstanding vocals and original material. Jeff is one of the world's premier banjo players and his band is complemented by the great lead singing of Greg Blake, and musicianship of Trysting Scroggins, Annie Savage and KC Groves!

High Plains Tradition is one of Colorado's longest running and most respected bands. Kenny, Doug, Steve, Mark and Bobby have played extensively around the country in addition to tours of Ireland and Canada. Their sound is traditional but always original and fresh with an entertaining stage show as well!

Big Mill is a seasoned Midwest group led by mandolin whiz, Darren Osborne, Allen Jones (original banjo player for Rhonda Vincent & the Rage) and vocalist John Taylor. Expect sounds ranging from traditional to contemporary from this crowd-pleasing five-piece band!

Stolen Thyme is a neo-traditional Old-Time string band. Ancient melodies, ballads and fiddle tunes from Appalachia and the British Isles resonate from this outstanding group led by Ben Lewis.

The McDailey Experiment draws on a variety of musical genres and influences to create their own special sound. The band includes Susan Dailey on mandolin, bassist. Amy Anderson, fiddler Paul Kiteck, all complemented by wildly-renowned bluegrass anti-hero, Willie McDonald.

The Ransom Notes are comprised of siblings Amanda, Michael and Amelia - a dynamic ensemble of musicians! They combine intense classical training with the passion and excitement of bluegrass, Celtic and folk music to create a refreshing, new musical experience!

Giddyup Kitty is a highly talented, high energy all-female band that has become a Colorado favorite!
They playa tight blend of bluegrass with a bit of Americana tossed in for flavor. "Classy, sweet and smooth, you'll be a believer once you catch Giddyup Kitty fever!" Catch their vocal harmony workshop on Saturday!

One More River will be featured on our Sunday morning gospel concerts. Led by Suzie Solomon, this group delivers heartfelt bluegrass gospel music from a group of respected Colorado musicians!
