Pickin' in the PastureEvery year, bluegrass music fans come from miles around to the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Come and experience four days of fun and world-class bluegrass music in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes area. Pickin' In The Pasture hosts some of the finest professional bluegrass entertainment in the country. The event features legendary performers as well as exciting new artists. Pickin' In The Pasture is known as "the destination" for traditional bluegrass music in NY State by the many fans that return year after year. We appreciate the strong support that bluegrass enthusiasts have given the event as we continue to make upgrades and improvements. Pickin' In The Pasture is large enough to be able to feature a professional quality stage show yet small enough to maintain a friendly family atmosphere. Festival goers comment that the event offers the best value for the admission price in the northeast.

This year, the pasture will host award winning bluegrass music talent. Super bluegrass artists, The Grascals, will be featured along with Michael Cleveland and Flamekeepe, The Larry Stephenson Band, Danny Paisley and the Southern Grass, The Larry Gillis Band, The Feinberg Brothers, Travers Chandler and Avery County, Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road, Goldwing Express and more.

There is music both on and off the stage as this festival is a jammers favorite as well. Jammers are welcome in the campgrounds and, if they want to hone their skills, there are instructional workshops being provided by some of the top talent performing. Pickin' In The Pasture's reputation as a great place to jam continues to spread. Every year the producers are amazed at the caliber of musicians in their campground. There is plenty of opportunity to jam for all levels of players from friendly beginner circles to hot late night sessions that will stimulate even seasoned professionals.

Young people who have started playing or singing bluegrass music need to check out the Pasture Kids Bluegrass Program. This program offers an opportunity for kids to get together with their peers and receive instruction on playing in a group. This great activity is sponsored by THE Ithaca Guitar Works who will also have a display of their fine acoustic instruments for your inspection. The program is under the direction of Ron Feinberg. As a climax to the experience, participants will perform material that they have worked up over the weekend on the main stage.

The best thing about Pickin' In The Pasture is the quality of people that attend. Bluegrass folks are the greatest! Come to Pickin' In The Pasture and see what everyone is talking about.
