In Good CompanyBluegrass music videos are still a rare thing in our musical world, especially "story line" type videos (in contrast to live performance videos), so I wanted to share with you my new video for "The Distance Between Two Points," a track from Bill Evans' new CD In Good Company. You can access this by linking to Bill's YouTube channel at It will come up first and automatically start playing once you link to the page.

This video by produced by Sarah Fisher at Blue Lotus Films, Inc. ( The musical track "The Distance Between Two Points" features Bill Evans on banjo, David Grier on guitar, Mike Marshall on mandolin, Todd Philips on bass and Tashina Clarridge, Tristan Clarridge and Darol Anger on fiddles. The track was produced by Darol Anger with production assistance from Bill Evans, Mike Marshall and Tom Size. It was recorded at Fantasy Studios, Berkeley in July 2011, engineered by Tom Size. The song was written by Bill and Corey Evans, his 19 year old daughter.

Bill Evans is an internationally recognized five-string banjo life force. As a performer, teacher, writer and composer, he brings a deep knowledge, intense virtuosity and contagious passion to all things banjo, with thousands of music fans and banjo students from all over the world in a music career that now spans over thirty-five years. The Banjo in America concert brings together these interests in a unique presentation designed for the concert stage. Bill's new CD In Good Company features an all-star cast of 26 musicians, including the Infamous Stringdusters, Tim O'Brien, Joy Kills Sorrow, Darol Anger, Mike Marshall, David Grier, Rob Ickes, Stuart Duncan and many, many more.

Bill comments saying, "This stellar line-up performs five new instrumental compositions from me, a four song, ten-minute Beatles medley and songs with The Infamous Stringdusters performing John Martyn's 'Walk to the Water', Joy Kills Sorrow performing Sarah Siskind's 'On and On' - not the Bill Monroe song, and Tim O'Brien performing 'Follow the Drinking Gourd'."

In Good Company was recorded in Berkeley, Nashville and Philadelphia and was produced by Bill along with Stephen Mougin (from the Sam Bush Band), Darol Anger and Tom Size. In Good Company is distributed by Burnside Distribution, Portland, OR and is set for release on May 15th. Physical and digital copies are available now directly from me at and there are generous samples of the entire project at

Bill continues saying, "Thanks to all of you for your previous support. There's a wide variety of music on this project, from mainstream bluegrass to folk and progressive acoustic sounds. I'm proud of this recording and I hope you enjoy it too."

The CD In Good Company is currently #1 on the FOLK-DJ List charts. You can learn more about this project by visiting: p
