Uncle Jim O'Neal started Rural Rhythm Records in 1955 and now over 56 years later, the label continues its dedication to preserving the works of bluegrass and old-time country music legends from the 50's, 60's & early 70's in their Sound Tradition collection. In 2005, Rural Rhythm launched their New Tradition series that includes some of the top artists in bluegrass music today. These albums and songs have topped the Billboard and radio charts and garnered numerous Grammy, Dove and IBMA nominations as well.

In the last several years, they launched two new arms of the label, Rural Rhythm Christian with projects by Marty Raybon, Larry Sparks, Mike Scott, Lou Reid and Carolina, and many more; plus Rural Rhythm Country with an album by Nashville's highly respected entertainer and songwriter, Mason Douglas.
