Finnders and Youngberg Selected for IBMA World of Bluegrass Showcase Act

Finnders and YoungbergFinnders & Youngberg, Colorado’s premier Americana quintet, will add yet another honor to their impressive resume: they’ve been chosen as an official showcase act for the International Bluegrass Music Association's World of Bluegrass conference in Nashville, Tenn., this fall. They are one of just 13 acts invited to perform during the bluegrass industry's biggest and most important week.

The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) serves as the trade association for the bluegrass music industry. World of Bluegrass week runs September 24-30 and includes the IBMA Business Conference, IBMA Awards Show and Bluegrass Fan Fest. Finnders & Youngberg will perform during the Business Conference portion of World of Bluegrass for an estimated 2000 attending bluegrass industry professionals.

Anchored in the northern Front Range of Colorado's Rocky Mountains, Finnders & Youngberg play music of this time and place. Songwriter and guitarist Mike Finders is a two-time winner of the MerleFest Songwriting Contest and writes the majority of the band's material.

Erin and Aaron Youngberg were founding members of Hit & Run Bluegrass Band, and won the RockyGrass band contest in 2002, the Telluride Bluegrass band contest in 2003, as well as the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America's (SPBGMA) band competition in 2005. The Youngbergs previously showcased with Hit & Run at IBMA's World of Bluegrass in 2005.

Fiddler Ryan Drickey is a RockyGrass fiddle champ and a much-sought session player with the likes of Matt Flinner and Michelle Shocked. Rich Zimmerman is best known for his mandolin and vocal work as a founding member of the Colorado-based band Slipstream. With such combinations of musicianship, creativity and experience, the band is finding some serious momentum.

Finnders & Youngberg will perform at the Rialto Theater at 228 East 4th Street in Loveland on May 11, with Mollie O'Brien and Rich Moore. Tickets are $14 in advance and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information call 970-962-2120 or visit the Rialto's ticketing site at www.rialtoloveland.ticketforce.com.
